Mixed media installation
I’m Bee, a new media video artist who specialises in mixed media animation and digital art. My work is an analysis of the effect of digital media and broadcasting and its impact on the UK’s current political climate. Over the past year I have been engaging in world building, crafting characters and narratives into my video animations of a sinister dystopian fascist near future world where media influence has taken an intense toll on the neurology and psychology of its inhabitants. These videos are presented through CRT monitors in installations that evoke a degraded version of the past: a tool I use to as I engage critically with nationalists' and popular demagogs' cultural obsession with nostalgia.
