Using oil paint and a plethora of solvents and mediums, I make paintings that combine the intangible abstract with the expressive facial form. I embrace the physicality of painting in this series, naturalistic movements and intuitive feelings have served as informative guides for this project, capturing a temporal state of existing and painting where nuance and authenticity of living is exposed. The materiality of my paint application intentionally alludes and interrogates the blurred boundaries of the internal and external world in my work, through self observation at a magnified scale.

For this project, I have been the sole visual subject of my artwork, and in a forcefully introspective tone I pose myself extremely close and personal with the audience and my physical self. There are three observers in this dynamic; the audience, the subject and me (the corporeal). These paintings reveal the symbiotic nature of the living experience, by playing with abstract unexplainable imagery that invigorates emotion and internal sentiments and the ephemeral loose facial expression, tactile and judged. I aim to catch the spirituality and realism of humanity and whether anyone can ever truly be represented instantaneously by a short period of exchange.
