Memory constantly welcomes a conversation between presence and absence. It shifts between what is clear and blurred, shaped, and reshaped by everything that follows.

Through the exploration of nostalgia, these paintings are built from deeply layered chromatic
greys, embodying the shifting, restless nature of memory itself. Against this, a single pocket of saturated yellow persists. A clearer image. A trace of something that refuses to completely
blur.

Frosted Perspex panels are suspended at varying distances before each painting, containing
the image as one might hold onto a precious memory. The image never fully resolves, causing a sensation of simultaneously being drawn in and held at a distance. There remains a tension between what is seen and what is hidden.

Experiences continue to act on memories. What we remember, and how clearly, is never quite finished.
