DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT
Keira and Daniel are joint honours students, creative writing and film and fine art and film respectively. Separately, they have contributed to a variety of films over the past three years. Keira working on Through the Void (Madill, 2024), as production
designer, Styx and Stones (Bickerton, 2024), as BTS photographer and runner, and
Chasing Reflections (Coll, 2025), as assistant director. Daniel working as co-editor
on both Hazel (Ford, 2025), and Janet (Chu, 2025). Together, they have also
contributed to the creation of Gringa (Neville-Bustamante, 2026), and co-directed
Human Eyes (Sawdy and Webb, 2026).
This film was produced as part of the Experimental Production module.
SYNOPSIS
An assemblage of compressed digital images from Alice Rohrwacher’s La Chimera and Video8 Tape footage that discusses the importance of art in its ‘true’ place and the formalist nature of found footage filmmaking.
