Playground (2026)
Mixed media recycled material
My artwork is rooted in play, focused primarily on experimentation with assemblages of component parts.  I like to engage with my sculptural practice light-heartedly, combining second hand toys and everyday objects with salvageable waste to assemble lively and visually striking pieces. My process involves collecting, organising, assembling and reassembling these objects. Through this process I aim to explore colour and texture to create engaging ensembles that invite curiosity from viewers. My work is intended to reveal the imaginative potential of these overlooked and discarded materials, giving them a new lease on life and encouraging others to reconsider their value. Colour plays an important role in my practice, I use vibrant and highly saturated colour pallets that give the work an energetic quality. All in all, my aim is to create playful sculptures that result in active, inquisitive participation from viewers.
