I am an oil painter specialising in realistic portraiture, with a particular interest in detail, colour, and the presence of the subject depicted in the portrait. My work explores the subtle complexities of human expression through layered paint, careful observation, and rich tonal contrasts. Inspired by Rembrandt’s balance between light and colour and Lucian Freud’s, portrait, Girl in Bed (1952), I aim to create portraits that feel both intimate and authentic. Through oil paint, I seek to capture not only physical likeness, but also atmosphere, character, and the quiet intensity of human presence.
