My practice is ritualistic and ceremonial, interrogating sex and death as spiritual happenings.
The work is performance-based, documented through video and image. It uses the body as an artistic medium, prop or canvas, and deals with ephemeral acts and objects. As I explore intimate sexual and destructive fantasies with the audience, each piece becomes an intersection of private and public acts, and the viewer becomes a voyeur in relation to the performance. Moreover, text and speculative writing further pushes the meanings of the artworks, urging the audience to experience each piece not only with sight but also imagination.

Looking
at the worldly and otherworldly, I also examine the fantastical
qualities of my other materials: the earth, which is rife with death and
decomposition but also life; flowers, which are hermaphroditic,
delicate and sensual, in tandem with their thorns which can draw blood;
and white cloth, with its heightened presence on the conjugal bed and
the funeral pyre.
Exploring
Freud’s idea of the sex and death drives—Eros and Thanatos, I find
myself interested in the psychological, the sexual, and the
psychosexual, focusing especially on the taboo and the haunting
existence of these.
