DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT

 My film encapsulates the feelings of nostalgia from my childhood by using a personal archive and a voice-over alongside a montage of London, a city that I was born it. I took a personal approach to this film having had a strong connection and many fond memories of London as well as the beach setting. As my four years at university comes to an end, I wanted to reflect on my past and reminisce about the experiences I once had that have shaped me into the person I am now.

This film was produced as part of the Experimental Production module.

SYNOPSIS

Reminisce is an experimental film combining a city symphony genre with found footage to recollect memories of the director’s childhood. The montage of London reflects the place she grew up, and the personal archive is combined with voiceovers to reconstruct old memories, reflect on personal truth and interrogate the perception of memory.
