DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT
Hello! I’m Bee, a new media video artist who specialises in mixed media animation and digital art. My work is an analysis of the effect of digital media and broadcasting and its impact on the UK’s current political climate. Over the past year I have been engaging in world building, crafting characters and narratives into my video animations of a sinister dystopian fascist near future world where media influence has taken an intense toll on the neurology and psychology of its inhabitants. These videos are presented through vintage CRT monitors within my installations which complement my use of vintage as I try offer a more critical lense to our culture's obsession with nostalgia.This film was produced as part of the Experimental Production module.
SYNOPSIS
Static Disorder is a multi media experimental animation film intended to reflect the physical and mental experience of tic disorders through the metaphorical representation of tics as TV static and interfering signals.CREW
