DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT
When we set out to make a comedy, we wanted there to be something beneath the surface - a deeper meaning and message that satirises the position conspiracy theories seem to hold in modern culture. We did not want to limit ourselves to the conventions of a typical "student film" and decided that conveying our own sense of humour was the way to distinguish it as something more individual. We feel that The Twitcher was a success in this regard, and are very proud of what we were able to achieve thanks to the immense effort and collaboration of our team.
This film is produced as part of the Short Film Production module.
SYNOPSIS
KEITH, a self-absorbed musician in a moment of arrogance, turns his hand to literature –and then to conspiracy – when he decides to write a book about birdwatching, but can't find any birds. Can he be pulled out of this rabbit hole before his erratic thinking runs his life and career into the ground.
